Choosing a study table
Get the height relationship right
Desk at 29–30in with a chair seat at 17–18in suits most adults. For a child, the elbow should rest level with the tabletop when seated.
Depth for a laptop plus a notebook
24 inches deep is the minimum that lets a student keep an open textbook beside a laptop. An 18-inch desk always feels cramped.
Light from the correct side
Place the desk so daylight comes from the left for right-handed users. We can build the shelf on either side to suit the window.
Plan for power cuts and inverters
We add a cable grommet and a shelf for the inverter or power bank, so charging cables are not draped across the study surface.

Care and maintenance in Nepal's climate
- Wipe laminate with a damp cloth; avoid alcohol-based cleaners on printed finishes.
- Check chair gas lift and castors twice a year, especially in heavy daily use.
- Keep desks away from window rain splash during monsoon; swollen edges start there.
- Tighten fixings on wall-mounted study units annually.
